Taste Hawaii – San Jose Lunch Event
Join Chef Alan Wong and food historian Arnold Hiura to “Taste Hawai‘i” at the Akiyama Wellness Center in San Jose!
This talk-story lunch event on Wednesday, Nov. 2 (11am-2pm), will feature food by Chef Alan and his culinary team, plus a buffet by Hukilau Restaurant offering favorite Hawai‘i dishes. Come hear about Hawai‘i’s food history and how our unique culinary environment has influenced Chef Alan.
Chef Alan and Arnold Hiura will also give away prizes: you could win dinner for two at The Pineapple Room or Alan Wong’s Honolulu or a collection of Hawai‘i cookbooks; winners must be present to claim their prizes; one entry per household; entry form must be filled out in person.
Each $60 ticket includes your choice of a copy of Chef Alan’s The Blue Tomato: The Inspirations Behind the Cuisine of Alan Wong OR Arnold Hiura’s Kau Kau: Cuisine & Culture in the Hawaiian Islands, beverage service (tea or soft drinks) and open access to food stations and buffet.
